This was supposed to be the final triplet for those other geometric drawings I did, but I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it. I’ll sleep on it. Maybe I’ll leave it as is or maybe I’ll make a replacement. We shall see!
Look! Another 5 min drawing finally! Now that I’m back from my trips I’ll try to keep a better schedule and do them daily like I promised I would. I do need the practice! Also, I started working on the final geometric triplet today, so look for that finished piece tomorrow.
This was a small experiment in combining two things I’ve been testing out recently: watercolours and the geometric pen and ink drawings. It was also a gift to someone I know, so I had to wait until she received it to post this. As she is one of the 5 people who currently follow this tumblr, there was a high chance of her seeing it if I had posted it earlier
Here’s a drawing I did back in 2006. It was the piece that spawned my current body of work of bodyscapes. Pretty important stuff. After unearthing this again in 2010, I recreated it in acrylic paint. If you want to look at that one, it’s on my website: http://www.sallybones.com/gallery/3915-Bodyscapes#28369 . (Side note, I will be changing the name of my website eventually. Just so ya know.)
I love when restaurants have placemats you can draw on! Here’s what I drew on my placemat at Frites Alors! in Montreal. I’ll get back to 5 minute drawings when I’m back from my trip! Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about my schedule already
Aha, I found this the other day in an old folder on my computer. It was my first time experimenting with the program Sculptris. I have no idea what I was attempting to sculpt but it turned out rather strange
I decided to make a sibling for that other geometric person. I’m liking them. They’ll probably be triplets soon enough!
I’m going to try to get back into the habit of doing daily 5 minute drawings. Ay ya yay, am I ever out of practice! Thought I’d combine this project and my dino project to practice both at the same time. Here’s a triceratops
Here’s something a little closer to my regular body of work. It’s a quick photoshop collage of a bodyscape. It definitely needs more work but I can see it developing into a ‘proper’ piece in the future.
A bit of practice for an upcoming project. I’ll let you know more about it when it’s a little further along.
One of my first attempts at watercolour. Ended up being some kind of cute, weird mini monster. More to come!
